I love this sauce. It has the excellent grounding flavors of the less hot version that allow it to hold a higher heat but is not at all unbearable and also doesn't require an excessive amount of fruit sweetness for the balance.
I believe the addition of tahini (fat) dramatically improves palatability and flavor distribution. I've enjoyed sauces that use peanuts in a similar albeit more intrusive manner. But the light, toasted sesame essence in this sauce dramatically improves the flavor profile and allows a much hotter pepper to carry flavor without crossing that important flavor / heat line. This is at the very top of my A-List of sauces.
At first I wasn't sure how I'd use because the flavor was a little garlicky/Mediterranean, so I mixed it with some mayo and put it on a turkey sandwich - delicious. Then I tossed some of it in with a pasta sauce I made - also delicious. Finally I just dunked some corn chips straight into a jar and ate it as is - again, delicious. So many uses, so versatile! The heat burns without making you sweat or cry (but I also like it hot). I happily voted in the 64 to keep these guys in the running. Well worth the title!
These sauces are fire! So different and defined. I’ve gifted several jars and my friends love them. I have 4 that I’m delivering to STL this weekend! Hamero and his team provide excellent customer service to top it off.
I've really enjoyed this hot sauce. It's versatile and packs a punch without being too much.
This was the hottest of the 3 I ordered. I fired up the grill and it was great on chicken. This is a strong medium heat on my scale. 6/7. It's advertised as 9 of 10 for heat but it falls way short of that. Maybe they will actually kick the heat up to 9 someday and sell it in larger jars.
Don't get me wrong it is a good sauce.
