We Won: Harmacy is The64's Best Hot Sauce in America
From zero to national champions.
Harmacy has been crowned The64's Best Hot Sauce in America, defeating 63 competitors including some of the most recognizable and respected names in the industry to claim the championship title.
The moment is still surreal. But it's real. And it's time to tell the complete story.
The Championship Victory
In the finals of The64's Best Hot Sauce in America competition, Harmacy faced Melinda's Hot Sauce, a respected brand with over 40 years of history, international distribution, and a loyal following built on quality Caribbean-influenced sauces.
When championship voting closed, the results were clear: Harmacy had won.
A small-batch craft operation making 20 gallons at a time. Started with no resources. Based in Cookeville, Tennessee.
Best Hot Sauce in America.
The Complete Tournament Journey
The64's competition began with 64 of America's top hot sauce brands competing in a bracket-style tournament decided by public voting.
Round 1: Proving We Belonged
Our first matchup tested whether a small craft brand could compete with established names. The community showed up, and we advanced.
Round 2: Proving It Wasn't Luck
Advancing again against tough competition proved Round 1 wasn't a fluke. We were legitimate contenders.
Round 3: Reaching Elite Territory
This round was against our friend Scott Zalkind, founder of Lucky Dog Hot Sauce. Making the final 16 sauces remaining put us in rarified air alongside the best competitors in the bracket.
Round 4: The Legendary Matchup
We faced Smokin' Ed's, the brand owned by Ed Currie, creator of the Carolina Reaper (world's hottest pepper). This was David vs. Goliath on the biggest stage.
We came out on top.
Round 5: Semifinals Victory
Against The Spicy Shark in the Final Four, we secured our spot in the championship match.
Round 6: Championship
The finals against Melinda's. Winner takes the title of Best Hot Sauce in America.
We won.

What Made This Possible
The Foundation of Harmacy Hot Sauce
Everything that got us to this championship came down to core principles we've never compromised on:
Small-Batch Production
Not because we can't scale, but because mastering batch size ensures quality control and consistency that large operations cannot match. Every batch gets complete attention.
Fresh Ingredients Always
Real peppers, thoughtfully selected components, in unique combinations. This is what creates genuine complexity and depth of flavor.
Flavor-First Philosophy
Heat matters, but balance, versatility, and making food taste better matter more. We make sauces people actually want to use every day.
Award-Winning Across the Lineup
Not just one standout sauce, every Harmacy sauce has won multiple awards for taste and quality. Consistent excellence.
Started With Zero Capital
No investors. No safety net. Just dedication to making something exceptional and refusing to compromise on quality for growth.
Craft Innovation
We don't copy classic sauces or chase trends. We create unique flavor profiles and combinations you won't find anywhere else.
This philosophy carried us through six rounds of competition against brands with century-long histories, massive marketing budgets, and international distribution.
And it won.
The Community Power
But here's the truth: we didn't win this championship alone.
Every vote came from someone who believed in what we're building. Someone who values craft production, flavor-first philosophy, and supporting independent makers.
The community that made this championship possible:
- Long-time customers who've supported us from the beginning
- Hot sauce enthusiasts who discovered us during the tournament
- People who appreciate underdog stories
- Supporters of small business and independent makers
- Anyone who voted, shared, recruited, or spread the word
You competed against corporate marketing machines with resources that dwarf our entire operation.
And you won.
What This Championship Proves
Winning The64's Best Hot Sauce in America validates several beliefs that drove me to start Harmacy:
Quality Beats Marketing Budgets
Great products speak for themselves. You don't need the biggest advertising spend or most shelf space to make the best hot sauce. You need dedication to quality and people who appreciate it.
Small-Batch Craft Can Compete at the Highest Level
Our 20-gallon production system isn't a limitation, it's an advantage that creates superior products through attention and care.
Starting With Nothing Doesn't Limit Potential
Zero capital to national champion. It's possible when you refuse to compromise, and necessity is the mother of invention, pushing our creativity to its maximum.
Flavor-First Philosophy Resonates
People want sauces that make food better, not just hotter. Balance, versatility, and usability matter as much as heat.
Communities Supporting Independent Makers Have Real Power
When passionate people rally behind independent makers and quality products, they can compete with, and beat, anyone.
The Cookeville Connection
Harmacy is proud to be based in Cookeville, Tennessee.
This championship isn't just ours, it belongs to everyone in this community who's supported a local small business. Everyone who bought bottles at farmers markets, recommended us to friends, or believed in what we were building from the start. Without local support, our influence would have never grown outside of the state.
From Cookeville to national champions.
What Hasn't Changed
Despite winning this championship, Harmacy remains committed to what got us here:
- Still making small batches
- Still using fresh ingredients
- Still focusing on flavor first
- Still independently owned and operated
- Still dedicated to craft and quality over growth and profit
What Comes Next
This championship opens doors, but it doesn't change our mission: making the best hot sauce possible through dedication to craft.
Same Quality, New Recognition
Every bottle will still be made with the same care and standards. Now with a championship to back it up.
Continued Innovation
New flavors, recipes, and ideas are always in development. Being champions means we can share new creations with more people.
Staying True to Craft
We won't scale up just because we can. We won't compromise quality for growth. We won by being Harmacy, and that won't change.
Supporting the Craft Community
We want to help prove that other small craft producers can compete and win. Rising tides lift all boats.
