We're Competing for Best Hot Sauce in America (And We Need Your Support)
Harmacy has been selected to compete in The64's Best Hot Sauce in America competition, a bracket-style tournament that will determine, through public voting, which hot sauce stands above all others.
We're going to be competing against some of the biggest names in the hot sauce industry.
Tabasco. A brand that's been in business since 1868.
Frank's RedHot. The sauce that's been on tables across America for over a century.
Tapatio. Huy Fong Sriracha. Louisiana Hot Sauce. Crystal.
Names that are synonymous with hot sauce itself. Brands with national distribution, massive marketing budgets, and loyal followings built over decades.
And then there's Harmacy: a small-batch craft operation making 20 gallons at a time, competing against some of the most established names in the industry.
This is David vs. Goliath. And I couldn't be more excited.
What Is The64's Best Hot Sauce in America?
The64's competition is a bracket-style tournament featuring 64 of America's top hot sauce brands competing head-to-head through multiple rounds of public voting.
Here's how it works:
- 64 hot sauces enter the bracket
- Each round features head-to-head matchups
- Public voting determines which sauce advances
- Only one sauce from each matchup moves forward
- Rounds continue until a champion is crowned
It's simple, democratic, and unforgiving. Win your matchup or you're eliminated. No second chances. No do-overs.
Just pure competition to determine the best hot sauce in America.
The Field Is Stacked
Alongside the household names I mentioned, we're competing against respected craft brands like Secret Aardvark, Yellowbird, Bravado Spice Co, Truff, and Melinda's. Innovative makers like Burns & McCoy, Karma Sauce, Small Axe Peppers, and Queen Majesty. Heat specialists like Elijah's Extreme, Blair's Death Sauce, and Dave's Gourmet.
These are brands that have earned their reputations. Some are headed by people I am proud to call friend.
But now Harmacy will stand alongside them in a national competition to determine which sauce truly deserves the title of best in America.
Why This Matters
For a small craft brand like Harmacy, this competition represents something bigger than just a tournament.
This is our chance to prove that:
- Small-batch production (20 gallons at a time) can outshine industrial-scale operations
- Starting with no capital doesn't limit how far you can go if you're dedicated to quality in everything you do
- Flavor-first philosophy resonates with folks who want hot sauce that makes food better, not just hotter
- Fresh ingredients and thoughtful recipes create genuinely superior products
- Craft hot sauce deserves a place in the conversation about best in America
We're not just competing for ourselves. We're competing for every small producer who believes that care, quality, and innovation matter more than marketing budgets and shelf space.
What Makes Harmacy Different
So what exactly is competing in this bracket when people vote for Harmacy?
Every Harmacy sauce is:
Award-winning across the lineup. Not just one standout sauce, our entire collection has won multiple awards for flavor and quality. This isn't luck. This is consistent dedication to craft.
Made with fresh ingredients. We use real peppers and thoughtfully selected components. No shortcuts. No fillers. Just ingredients we'd want to eat ourselves.
Small-batch crafted. Our 20-gallon batch size means we control every variable, maintain consistency, and ensure quality in every bottle.
Truly unique. We're not making "our version" of classic sauces. We're creating flavor profiles you won't find anywhere else. Combinations that surprise. Balance that works.
Actually usable. These aren't novelty sauces that sit in your fridge unused after the initial heat challenge. These are everyday sauces that improve eggs, tacos, pizza, sandwiches, stir-fries, anything and everything.
This philosophy has earned loyal customers and industry recognition. Now it gets tested on the biggest stage we've ever faced.
The Underdog Story (Cheesy, but true!)
Let's be completely honest about what we're up against.
Brands like Tabasco have been perfecting their sauce since before our great-grandparents were born. They're in every grocery store in America and run distribution networks we can only dream about.
Frank's RedHot has Super Bowl commercials. Sriracha is a cultural phenomenon. These brands have resources and reach that dwarf our entire operation.
But here's what we have that they don't: a story of building something from nothing through pure dedication to craft.
We started Harmacy with zero capital. No investors. No safety net. Just a belief that we could make genuinely exceptional hot sauce if we refused to compromise on quality.
Every batch made in our small 20-gallon system. Every bottle filled by hand. Every flavor profile developed through countless iterations until it was exactly right.
We grew by earning one customer at a time. By making sauce so good that people told their friends. By winning awards that validated our approach. By building a community that believed in what we were creating.
That's the story competing in this bracket.
And if there's one thing people love, it's a good underdog story.
